Florida Police Add a C7 Z06 Corvette to Patrol Fleet

Could you get pulled over by C7 in Florida this summer?

Source: Escambia County Sheriff Facebook

The Escambia County Sheriff's Department added a 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque C7 C06 to their police fleet just in time for the 4th of July.

According to the dpartment, no tax dollars where used for the vehicle. The C7 was seized from a felony suspect, and the custom wrap and lights were paid for by the Escambia County Sheriff Foundation.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) the C7 will not be used on patrol. So you won't see any highspeed C7 police chases.

According to the department the vehicle will be used to help promote community engagement and recruitment. Basically, they are going to use it in parades and park it out front to hopefully get kids interested in the department.

Other departments around the world have done similar things with seized vehicles. Police in Dubai are probably the most well known example. They have a fleet of supercars including a Lamborghini Aventador.

Money may not buy happiness, but I'd rather cry in a Jaguar than on a bus.
